Cherry pickers, also known as basket cranes, hydraladders and aerial lifts are employed for many different uses such as cleaning windows, mounting electrical, telephone and cable wiring to utility poles as well as for use by the fireservice. Cherry pickers usually come in the form of a basket with a platform mounted on a hydraulic arm which are both normally attached to a truck in order to hold the cherry picker in place. An advantage of having the lifts attached to trucks is that the rubber wheels ensure insulation from the ground.
